My writing experience includes two years as a film writer for the Santa Cruz Sentinel, producing a bi-weekly column on current theatrical releases. I have also been responsible for the creation of a monthly newsletter for a skilled nursing facility, creating content on topics such as health advocacy, facility news and events, social and physical issues specific to geriatric care and changes to health insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid. I have updated employee manuals for businesses in both corporate and non-profit settings and have compiled, analyzed and organized statistical data for quarterly and annual reporting.

I received an AA in English from Modesto Jr. College and a BA in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz, where I completed a thesis project on the use of creative writing in a therapeutic setting. I have maintained a personal blog since 2002, writing on a wide variety of topics, including books, music, pop culture and food. I am also currently the co-editor of Sweet Banana Ink, a group blog focused on the writer's life.
